Job Overview:

Welder

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform welding operations on livestock equipment products using appropriate jigs.

 

  • Set machine properly according to material requirements.

 

  • Maintain machine and perform other operations as necessary.

 

  • 3 months experience in wire feed welding preferred.

 

  • Basic mathematical ability - must pass the math skills evaluation.

 

  • Working knowledge of Lean Mfg. process.

 

Abilities Required:

The ability to work toward continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001-2015. The ability to work well with others. The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust material positioning in the machines. The ability to monitor and quickly and repeatedly adjust controls on the machines including turning or moving stops to regulate the machines. Good vision is required to ensure quality and safety requirements are being upheld. The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp and manipulate materials. Continuous gripping and grasping. Trunk strength, the ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body continuously over time without “giving out” or fatiguing. Ability to lift approximately 75 pounds 50% of the time. The remaining 50% of the time will be spent lifting material more or less than 75 pounds. Material varies in length from 6 inches to over 18 feet long. All lifting is done by the one or two employee at each station.  Must be able to lift while twisting, bending, stooping, squatting or crouching, etc. The lifting may be started and ended in any level between the knees and above the shoulder. Much of the lifting is over your head. Static Strength – the ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Multilimb Coordination – the ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while standing, stooping, crouching, bending, etc. Crouching in a deep knee bend is required for some machine adjustments. Standing is required at all times, must have ability to stand on cement for the entire shift. Full range of motion is required to safely perform the job duties in this area.
