Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator / Material Handler to join our warehouse or distribution team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and store materials in a safe and efficient manner. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and trailers.
• Move materials and products to designated storage areas.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through manual or digital systems.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues.
• Ensure all materials are stored according to safety regulations.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, packing, and unpacking materials.
• Keep warehouse and work areas clean, organized, and hazard-free.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Proven experience as a forklift operator or material handler.
• Valid forklift operator certification (or ability to obtain certification).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) consistently.
• Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and inventory systems.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Basic math and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or distribution environment.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
• Ability to operate various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, etc.).

Working Conditions:

• Frequent standing, walking, lifting, and operating heavy equipment.
• Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the warehouse environment.
