Job Details:
This position involves performing various duties related to wastewater treatment systems, which may include:
Operation of wastewater analysis laboratory
Operation and maintenance of wastewater collection, pre-treatment, and full treatment systems
Operation and maintenance of other water or wastewater treatment systems
Activities may include:
Collecting samples for analysis in accordance with EPA, state, and health department regulations
Performing chemical analysis both in and out of a laboratory setting
Making system adjustments based on chemical analysis results
Making educated decisions to maintain regulatory compliance
Performing mathematical calculations using basic algebraic formulas and a calculator
Completing computerized reports and compiling information for monthly reports as required by permits, state authority, EPA, or corporate management
Utilizing basic organizational, mechanical, and electrical wiring skills
Communicating operational status to upper management
Maintaining operations logs
Performing minor to major maintenance on equipment
Operating a spotter truck and/or forklift
Grounds keeping, painting, general housekeeping
Performing other duties as needed
Schedule: Wednesday-Saturday 7PM-7AM
Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1+ years of wastewater experience preferred
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with knowledge of Word and Excel
Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical
Certification: Must successfully complete a storm water training program selected by site management within thirty days. Must also complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months. Must obtain the lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with state regulations.
Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and be required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility. Must meet and maintain minimum qualification levels as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements: Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds), climbing and/or descending stairs or ladders, working in unsanitary conditions, working with hazardous chemicals.
