We are seeking a dependable Wastewater Operator to join a leading metal recycling and manufacturing facility in Hartford, CT. In this role, you will operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment used in the metal washing process, perform routine water quality testing, and ensure treatment systems are running safely and efficiently. Training: First 2 weeks on 1st Shift
3rd Shift:
Thursday: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Friday: 10:30 PM – 11:00 AM
Saturday: 10:30 PM – 11:00 AM
Sunday: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Operate, monitor, and adjust wastewater treatment and metal washing equipment.
Perform routine water quality testing throughout the shift and accurately document results.
Monitor system performance and report equipment issues or operational concerns.
Safely unload and move incoming materials using a forklift (training/certification available if needed).
Sort and weigh recycled materials according to production specifications.
Label, organize, and prepare processed materials for the next stage of production.
Complete production logs and other required documentation.
Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
Follow all company safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
Previous experience as a Wastewater Operator is highly preferred.
Experience working with water treatment systems, fluid processing, chemical mixing, chemical handling, laboratory testing, or measuring and monitoring process variables is also ideal.
Manufacturing, production, industrial, warehouse, machine operator, or plant experience is a plus.
Forklift experience is preferred or willingness to become certified.
Comfortable working with industrial equipment and following detailed operating procedures.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately record measurements and complete documentation.
Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work overnight and weekend shifts.
Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
Bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive tasks.
Comfortable working in an industrial environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
