Job Description

Wash Bay Operator performs tasks involving physical labor for cleaning and preventive maintenance for the Construction and Transportation fleet. They may operate a variety of equipment including hand, power, and steam cleaning equipment, and perform other duties as required for efficient business operations.

Wash Bay Operator Skills:

Wash Bay Operators must have good manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and balance. They must be able to read and understand warning signs and labels in a maintenance shop environment. They should be capable of working alone or as a member of a team and have basic problem-solving skills.

Wash Bay Operator Duties:

• Follow direction and instructions of Shop Supervisor
• Ability to complete required documentation when needed
• Use of steam and power cleaning equipment
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein

Wash Bay Operator Physical Requirements:

• Meet D. L. George & Sons medical, drug and alcohol qualifications
• Ability to operate in indoor or outdoor environment up to 12 hours per day, 40 to 50 hours per week
• Majority of work requires standing or walking, minimal climbing
• May be required to work off of ladders up to fifteen feet
• Handle material weighing up to 50 pounds with minimal assistance
• May be required to work in adverse weather; wind, heat, rain, or snow
