JOB SUMMARY
Operate an industrial forklift to perform material handling assignments. Identify and transport material to and from storage areas and loading dock. Enter inventory changes directly into company software.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Moving controls, devices, and levers to drive forklifts to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, and storage areas in a safe and efficient manner.
- Loading and unloading trucks with materials or products.
- Performing quality checks on incoming and outgoing materials.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Ensuring that the forklift is clean and well-maintained.
- Following all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries.
- Communicating with other employees and supervisors to maintain an organized work environment.
- Assisting with other warehouse or manufacturing tasks as needed.
- Attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks on materials
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with other employees and supervisors
- Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to follow them at all times
- Willingness to assist with other warehouse or manufacturing tasks as needed
- Overall, the Forklift Operator role is an essential part of our operations team, helping to move materials and products around our warehouse or manufacturing facility in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate for this role should have experience operating a forklift, knowledge of safety procedures, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
- Loading or unloading materials manually, off or on to pallets, platforms, skids, or lifting devices.
- Performing routine post and pre inspections to ensure suitable working nature or forklift equipment
- Responsible for keeping the hopper full of compound
- Examine visually, weigh and measure components created from equipment as quality checks to ensure machines are producing according to company specifications, adjusting as need
- Communicate, train and work with co-workers, shift supervisors and others to take care of complications as soon as they arise
- Grind scrap material
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthful workplace by keeping work area clean, organized and free of hazards
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Must be experienced in Excel and other similar software
- Ability to read and write simple statements and perform arithmetic calculations with fractions and decimals
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED (preferred but not required)
- Documented US work authorization
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Successful candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and pre-employment background check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to endure working in a manufacturing environment with inside excessive hot and cold temperatures, able to tolerate exposure to dust and noise.
- Prolonged standing on concrete floors; Frequent walking; Occasional bending and squatting
- Must be able to lift and/or push up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis
