Description

The Warehouse Lead will support the day-to-day operations of the Warehouse department, including administrative and clerical functions, to ensure efficient operations and a safe working environment. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Supervisor. The hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Supports and monitors the day-to-day operations of the warehouse department, meeting the established objectives for receiving, distribution, shipping, stocking, product rotation, sanitation, and safety in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all product and packaging is reviewed and staged for production a day in advance.   
  • Monitors loading, dispatch, and receiving times and makes appropriate changes, ensuring compliance with QIP, HACCP, and DOT regulations.
  • Handle and stock products as directed to the appropriate assigned locations using a hand truck, dolly, forklift, reach forklift, scissor lift, or other device while maintaining and complying with all written safety, quality, and GMP requirements.
  • Routinely communicates with team members to ensure compliance with established warehouse productivity, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Assists with numerous computer-based, manual reports and related paperwork, daily logs, damage reports, etc.
  • Monitors product damage and audits routes to ensure reliable product delivery.
  • Ability to work in a diverse workforce in a production environment.
  • Lead and motivate team members in a team-based environment.
  • Ensure proper ingredients, lot numbers, and date codes are correct for each product delivered.
  • Daily maintains the warehouse area and equipment by sweeping, mopping, and removing debris.
  • Load and unload items from machines, carts, and dollies.
  • Load and unload product / finished goods onto the truck.
  • Any tasks that support the processes of the production department.
  • Champion the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values in every action and decision.
  • Perform assignments and directives provided by the Leadership Team.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines, including Standards of performance (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
  • Communicates regularly with the Operations Manager.

Qualifications


Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience. Previous experience in a food-packaging environment is preferred.
  • Relevant safety policies, practices, and procedures
  • Storage and shipment of food products.
  • Food and material handling
  • Inventory control concepts and techniques.
  • Barcoding and Company computer systems
  • Warehouse racking systems/processes
  • Relevant regulatory procedures and standards (OSHA, USDA, AIB, HAACP, etc.
  • Since all equipment documents and manuals are written in English, users must be able to understand and follow written and oral instructions in English.
  • Works efficiently and manages time effectively.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

Frequently required to stand; walk; use of hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; and to talk; or hear—ability to lift and move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color, and depth vision. They are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock or vibration risk. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Tree Nuts, Milk/Dairy, eggs, etc.
