POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Supervisor & Shipping Coordinator
RESPONSIBLE TO: Industrial Operations Plant Manager
Basic Function:
The Warehouse Supervisor and Shipping Coordinator is responsible for overseeing a wide
variety of warehouse activities including shipping and receiving of raw materials and/or
finished good and maintaining inventory, customer relations and directing employees. This role
includes people management responsibilities including training, planning and assigning daily
work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues, and resolving
problems.
Primary Duties:
• Responsible for all inventories entering into and out of the warehouse.
• Develop and recommend more efficient management of raw materials and finished
goods while working closely with Operations Supervisors, Inventory Control personnel,
and Sales personnel
• Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment
• Receive in materials and goods and post receiving documentation to system while
maintaining accurate lot and tracking information.
• Supervise and manage the scheduling of warehouse personnel, provide training and
coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and set departmental goals and expectations
• Determine best trucking routes and carriers to ensure deliveries to customers arrive on
time, to the correct location and at the lowest cost possible
• Schedule trucks for all outbound shipments
• Provide freight costs for customer invoices
• Provide freight quotes for sales department
• Review all freight invoices for accuracy
• File freight claims and follow as needed through final resolution
• Organize and maintain warehouse, ensure shelves are stocked with a firm grasp of how
merchandise should best be stored
• Interface with the customer and employees in a professional and friendly manner to
solve problems, answer questions, be a team player
• Implement and maintain safety standards as required by law and company policy
• Create a high morale workplace with high ethical standards
• Act as a member of the management team and perform other duties as directed by the
Industrial Operations Plant Manager
• Maintain adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping
practices while reporting anything to the contrary immediately to senior management
• Forklift trainer for all employees authorized to use forklift.
• Perform other duties, as assigned
Knowledge/Skills:
• Must communicate effectively, be deadline oriented, dependable and highly organized
• Ability to use PC with general knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Outlook,
Word, Excel)
• Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software
applications
• Ability to read and interpret documents and be familiar with the requirements of OSHA
as it pertains to industrial regulations, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to make calculations, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices and
percentages
• Ability to meet physical requirements: standing, sitting, walking throughout the day;
repeated twisting at the torso while lifting and pulling inventory from shelves, regular
lifting up to 50 lbs., occasional climbing of ladders, usage of pallet jacks and forklifts
Experience:
• Five years of relevant warehouse experience (including 1+ year of previous supervisory
experience) or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Background in material handling and stock control
• Experience directly managing teams of 4+ direct reports to include performance
management and disciplinary actions is preferred
Education/Training:
• High School Diploma of GED required
• Bachelor Degree in Inventory Management or related field preferred

• Commensurate with market and experience
Transportation:
• Reliable transportation to and from work and within required business hours
Office Hours:
• Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
