Job Overview:

Job Responsibilities
1. Effectively relates to, communicate with, and motivates employees in a positive manner to create a productive work environment. Communicates directly with vendors and internal/external suppliers as necessary to assure orders are placed and delivered on time to meet production needs. Also reports quality deficiencies experienced by the plant to corporate purchasing or directly to vendors in order assure specifications are met.
2. Responsible to ensure that each employee has had necessary safety training for their job, actively looking for opportunities to improve safety throughout the department and the plant.
3. Manage work group as necessary to accomplish production schedule while ensuring that all products produced meets quality specifications.
4. Attentive to optimizing production and supply inventory cost drivers. Verifies minimal supply quantities to optimize warehouse space utilization while simultaneously communicating with scheduling to assure production can take place according to scheduled needs.
5. Ensure the GMP’s, Food Safety and housekeeping standards are understood and are part of all employees’ everyday routine.
6. Understands and complies with current HACCP plans.
7. Responsible for timely and accurate completion of paperwork such as: production reports, HACCP records, delay reports, training documentation, payroll, ORACLE, Release reports.
8. Setup formal-work group meetings a minimum of once per month (product meetings, training, and progress reports). Informal-individual work performance issues, personal situations, motivators. Etc.
9. Work cooperatively with other supervisors and departments to effectively manage personnel, meat load receiving and meat storage trailer loading and rotation in order complete production schedules and achieve smooth product flow. Maintains close communication and working relationship with corporate purchasing.
10. Ensure employees are adequately trained in technical aspects to successfully complete their job.
11. Ensures weekly inventories are taken in warehouse and proper procedure is taking place for material checkouts. Actively participates in the plants inventory supply reduction.
12. Maintain proper storeroom inventory by reviewing purchase requirements, taking and reconciling physical inventories, receiving supplies, and transferring supply requisitions. Maintains accurate tracking of meat, packaging and seasoning items on storage trailers.
13. Manage receiving department fleet of trailers and spotter trucks and handles scheduling of maintenance and repair of this equipment. Achieve a working knowledge of all equipment in the department.
14. Performs other activities as assigned by management, including, but not limited to relief supervision and vacation relief.

Preferred Qualifications
 * Degree in a related field or production lead experience
 * Demonstrated experience leading continuous improvement efforts
 * Previous experience in Value added processing areas
 * Previous experience with Oracle and/or PRMS programs
 * Previous experience with SFDC program
 * Experience in the area of supply inventory management
