Job Overview:

Summary

Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of an assigned warehouse while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Coordinate all receiving and shipping activities within their department per the Purchase Order, Sales Order, and Shipping Dashboard by due dates. Maintain the highest level of customer service and inventory control ensuring that parts are barcoded and are readily available upon a customer’s request. Help to oversee that all Material Handlers are trained and are following correct processes. Complete other tasks assigned by Logistics Manager in order to meet daily goals.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be detail oriented and makes sure all processes are followed and paperwork is correct.
  • Identify part shortages days prior to shipment.
  • Complete weekly internal shipping audits. 
  • Ensures product has been final inspected by QC prior to being put in a shipping lane. 
  • Perform final audits on outbound shipments before loading parts onto the truck.
  • Email daily reports/checklists to Dept. Manager on progress or issues within assigned area.
  • Organize and maintain assigned warehouse to plan. 
  • Uses the “APP” and/or hand-held scanners to maintain inventory, counts, locations, and barcoding of parts. 
  • Perform daily cycle counts to promote inventory accuracy.
  • Complete other projects or duties assigned by the Logistics Manager.
  • Responsible for complying with all customer service and packaging standards.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental policies and procedures. 
  • Make sure all associates are following safety protocols on the floor and while operating warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure that all associates receive training in safe operation of equipment, hazard communication, and spill prevention prior to assignment of new jobs.
  • Stop/control further processing of a shipment until a resolution has been agreed upon.
  • Ensure that good housekeeping (5S) is being performed daily.
  • Ensure that procedures and work instructions are followed and are up to date.
  • Investigate claims/discrepancies in your assigned area and assist with finding a root cause.
  • Responsible for communicating when a discrepancy or issue has been found.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attend scheduled meetings.
  • Monitor shipping dashboard for changes, notes, and update others immediately.
  • Monitor outside storage space to avoid product(s) being left outside overnight.
  • Help ensure that all overflow areas are organized and that the colored cones are being used.
  • Ensure that associates understand our quality and environmental goals and the expectation in achieving these goals.
  • Print all picklists, shipping labels, and prints for each order prior to their due date for orders needing shipped.
  • Act professionally at all times with customers, suppliers, and other associates.
  • Recommend solutions to problems.
  • Complete quarterly performance evaluations.
  • Ensure that all associates are productive, placed on jobs as required to meet delivery schedules.
  • Ensure accuracy and on-time delivery for all outbound shipments.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Assist in Physical Inventory.
  • Assist with labeling and updating storage areas.
  • Assist with the unloading/loading process of materials when necessary.
  • Assist with auditing skids before loading on the truck.
  • Notify the Logistics Manager and/or Senior Management of any potential safety hazards and/or injuries.
  • Help monitor warehouse equipment making sure that they are readily available (scanners, powered lift equipment, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Help create a safe work environment within your assigned building.

Education and/or Experience

  1. Associates degree or 5 years of warehouse experience or greater.
  2. Knowledgeable within the warehouse industry 
  3. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  4. Knowledge of shipping documents (BOL and packing lists).

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
