Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead warehouse operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and inventory accuracy while fostering a strong team culture built on leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and support employees in alignment with GKN’s Six Promises and cultural standards.
- Maintain a visible presence on the shift while directly coaching and mentoring team members.
- Manage team performance, including recognition, feedback, attendance tracking, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental, Health, and Quality (EHSQ) standards and housekeeping requirements.
- Develop employee schedules, manage overtime, vacations, LOAs, and holiday coverage.
- Plan and support training, cross-training, and employee development initiatives.
- Expedite production, prototype, and PPAP parts to support internal operations and external customers.
- Coordinate with finance, planners, and cycle counters to resolve inventory and shipping discrepancies.
- Oversee EDI/ASN transactions, returnable dunnage control, and customer-owned packaging.
- Measure, analyze, and report warehouse performance and cost control metrics.
- Lead physical inventory counts and support corrective actions related to internal customer complaints.
- Ensure compliance with QS9000 and ISO/TS 16949 procedures and work instructions.
- Facilitate team meetings focused on quality, safety, productivity, cleanliness, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- High School Diploma (Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of warehouse leadership experience.
- Experience working in QS9000 or ISO/TS 16949 environments.
- Proficiency in SAP Warehouse Management Systems.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Forklift certification and prior operating experience.
