Overview
We're hiring! Kemin is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team at our Des Moines campus. The Warehouse Supervisor will effectively coordinate and supervise all day to day functions of the warehouse. This will include coaching and training of the warehouse staff, making sure all orders are shipped on time and according to the customer requirements, tracking order statuses, managing the proper storage of raw materials and finished goods (bulk and packaged), ensuring the team is completing inventory transactions accurately (e.g., recording product), ensuring all warehouse equipment works safely and efficiently, coordinating and verifying trucking schedule and shipments, filling containers and tankers while recording all the necessary information, and maintaining an open and effective communication between departments.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience supervising a team and warehouse responsibilities, and be able to follow instructions, specific procedures and protocols, and adhere to the required measures to ensure the highest quality of product and a safe work environment.

Responsibilities
- Effectively manage people and resources available in the warehouse.
- Supervise all shipping and receiving functions, while ensuring accurate inventory control, shipment verification, and on-time deliveries.
- Supervisor and maintain supplies, equipment, and payroll activities.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments for multiple businesses and locations, including custom documentation, as applicable.
- Track and report departure date for customer orders and distribution orders ahead of time.
- Responsible for leading, coordinating, and interacting with other departments to facilitate effective operations such as; Customer Service, Quality Control, Production, Maintenance, Scheduling, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and R&D.
- Coordinate and complete complex inventory cycle counts.
- Track, maintain, and supervisor inventory transactions and accuracy in physical and virtual warehouses.
- Lead and coordinate warehouse staff toward meeting shipping schedule, effectively communicating and maintaining all shipment and receiving requirements for all Kemin customers.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all shipping department employees are current on training requirements and SOPs.
- Supervise and maintain an environment of food and feed safety in compliance with rules and regulations.
- Follow all SOP's and safety procedures including exercising extreme caution with hazardous materials to ensure safe work environment for employee.
- Follow and maintain all GMP required procedures and practices and maintain sanitary conditions ensuring high quality products.
Qualifications
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma with 5+ years of related experience OR
- Associates Degree with 3+ years of related experience
- Previous knowledge and experience in shipping and receiving, warehousing, and logistics.
- Strong leadership skills and attend a minimum of one further education/development course per year (or as assigned).
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to multi-task and have a high attention to detail.
- Must be self-motivating and have good problem solving skills.
- Strong team player, and team oriented.
