Job Overview:

Position Summary

Supervise the shipping and receiving of goods into the Vantage Oleochemicals Warehouse. This includes receipts into the warehouse from suppliers and the production department, the management and requisitioning of all supplies and services needed to run the warehouse, inventory record keeping, management of inventory within the warehouse, carrier scheduling and shipment of goods out of the warehouse primarily to customers and other storage locations and the scheduling and coordinator and rail coordinator in the absence of either party.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

List the key responsibilities for this role.

  • Taking an active role for safety in the warehouse to make it a clean and safe work environment for the employees.

  • Prepare a flaker plan daily if needed. Work closely with the Planning Manager to determine the material available for each tank and to meet customer demands.

  • Process all necessary paperwork and computing actions involved in the above stated operation as well as printing of big bag labels

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of goods and materials. End of the month inventory report to be generated, sent to manager and make BPCS adjustments after a discussion with the manager.

  • Ship material on a FIFO basis.

  • Ensure customer rejections and/or damages are reworked.

  • Relief inventory form BPCS for orders and generate big bag labels as needed.

  • Communicate daily with the warehouse staff, flaker operators, warehouse loading crew. Have daily meetings to start to the day with expectations.

  • Once established in the role, within six months, they will learn the traffic and rail coordinator jobs so they can rotate between one another when one of them is on PTO.

  • Take an active involvement in the company CURE/SUSA/SSHE and facilitate the involvement of subordinates.

  • In the absence of the Logistics Coordinator, schedule all packaged bulk shipments out of the Chicago Plant.

  • In the absence of the Rail Coordinator, handle the essential functions of the position, including updating railcar receipts, preparing daily rail switch and updating purchasing records.

  • Assist the Logistics Coordinator and Supply Chain Manager with the other distribution/ logistic related functions as directed.

Education & Experience:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • 3–5 years of warehouse or industrial experience, ideally in a union facility.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in warehousing/ distribution preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Talents

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • High level of flexibility and detail orientation.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • High attention to detail is essential to the role

Working Conditions

  • Time is divided fifty percent (50%) of the time between the office administration work and being on the floor with the flaker operators.

  • Being able to lift upward fifty pounds (50lbs)

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse, holding the warehouse employees responsible for keeping the rows clean and flaker dust is swept daily.

Pay and Benefits

The estimated base pay range for this position is: $60,000 - $90,000 annually. Actual pay will be determined based on education, certifications, experience, qualifications, skills and geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive program.
