We, at Harvest Food Distributors, are looking for qualified candidates for a Warehouse Puller opportunity at our Vernon, CA branch location.

Primary Duties:  

The Warehouse Puller is responsible for stocking and maintaining warehouse inventory. This position will also be picking and checking products in the warehouse.   

Essential Job Functions:  

The Warehouse Puller will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.   

• Picking products for shipping.  
• Ensuring that all items are accurately picked and in good condition.  
• Staging products for verification in the shipping area.  
• Verifying the product description and expiration date before shipping.  
• Operating a pallet jack.  
• Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse.  
• Assisting co-workers with daily operations.  
• Identifying problems and report to shift supervisor in a timely manner.  
• Work well in group problem solving situations.  
• Staging, loading and unloading products and materials.

Physical Demands:    

• Frequently lift, push or move product that weighs from 1 up to 100 pounds.   
• Must be able to perform job functions within varied temperatures within the warehouse and freezer.   
• Frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart.   
• Ability to work from foot to standing and seated powered equipment for extended periods of time.   
• Frequently reach above shoulder: Occasionally grasp objects while manipulate objects with frequently twisting.    

Requirements:   

• One (1) year experience working within refrigerated warehouse and/or distribution center  
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to develop a collaborative team   
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures   
• Must have experience working electric pallet jack and forklift and list at least 80 pounds  
• Ability to function with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously  
• Ability to work various lengths of time in cold environments including the freezer   
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
