Operate production machines — start, stop, monitor, and adjust high-speed manufacturing/packaging equipment.
Watch the production line — make sure machines are running correctly and products are being produced properly.
Check product quality — look for defective products/materials and perform required quality checks.
Troubleshoot problems — when a machine jams, stops, or starts producing bad product, you help identify the problem and involve Maintenance when needed.
Clean and sanitize equipment — food and beverage production requires strict sanitation and GMP procedures.
Do changeovers — when the line switches from one product/package to another, you'll help clean, set up, and prepare the equipment.
Record production information — enter data and complete paperwork/software records related to production and quality.
Follow food-safety rules — including GMP, SQF, and HACCP requirements.
Work with Maintenance and Quality — you aren't necessarily a maintenance mechanic, but you work closely with them when equipment problems occur.
Look for improvements — KDP expects technicians to participate in problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities. KK
