Vertiv in Lincoln, Nebraska is looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to supervise warehouse operations to ensure that parts are received in, orders are picked, and completed orders are packaged, loaded, and dispatched safely, timely, and efficiently, and proper records are maintained. Functional areas of responsibility include all material and logistics functions required to manage warehouse operations

Brief Job Description: 

We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and motivated Warehouse Supervisor to join our manufacturing facility in Lincoln, Nebraska. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager within the remit of the Plant Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for numerous teams under the general direction of the Warehouse Manager. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, improving and motivating staff to achieve the various objectives and goals of the company. They will focus on Total Production Efficiency (TPE). The output of key component manufacturing and associated responsibilities for planning, executing, monitoring and improving our shipping, receiving, and inventory processes. The Warehouse Supervisor will be self-motivated with a strong background in warehousing and supervision within a fast-paced production environment where they have had responsibility for production, quality, performance management, employee relations, recruitment & selection, and health & safety.

You will be responsible for the unit management of all aspects of 35+ personnel under the general supervision of the Warehouse Manager. It will be your responsibility to manage, improve performance and motivate staff at your disposal efficiently to achieve the various objectives and goals of the business. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a good understanding of operational performance metrics (KPIs) and analysis, and some experience in commercial awareness are required. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage shipping and receiving activities.  
  • Manage warehouse operations in compliance with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), 5S plus 1 (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize & Sustain; with overarching principle of Safety) and environmental initiatives.  Ensure preparation of warehouse building and equipment maintenance schedules (e.g., lift equipment, lift batteries, scales) and that all needed upkeep or repairs are completed timely.  
  • Manage inventory, including storage and labeling 
  • Perform and supervise inventory audits, cycle counts and coordinating the annual physical inventory.  Initiate corrective action where process lapses exist, or where established procedures are not effectively maintaining inventory accuracy. 
  • Coordinate warehouse logistics activities including imports and exports. 
  • Staff, train, coach, and manage employees for assigned team, including scheduling work assignments & time off, developing & scheduling training to include required lift truck certifications, developing & setting operational performance standards and goals, completing & delivering performance appraisals, and interviewing for job vacancies. 
  • Support Lean Manufacturing
  • Other Duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management or Logistics preferred
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • MS Office and ERP systems experience
  • Ability to develop and coach a diverse teams
  • 5+ of experience
  • 2+ years leadership experience in shipping, receiving, and stockroom environment
  • Knowledge of ISO and Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of providing leadership to achieve production targets.
  • Experience in setting up high-volume production lines.

Physical & Environmental Requirements: (To be used majorly for manufacturing jobs.)

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Light manufacturing
  • Fork Lift operations desirable
