A family-owned Illinois agribusiness is hiring for its Roseville plant, which produces ~40 tons of feed/day (about 70% shipped bulk, the rest bagged in 50-lb bags on an automated bagger and manually stacked on pallets). The role spans production and warehouse work (more time in the warehouse), with cross-training across areas and daily interaction with sales, drivers, and customers. They hire for reliability and work ethic first and train the rest — competing on stability (consistent hours, no layoffs, no weekends) rather than top pay.

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Operate forklift and pallet jack (training/certification provided)

  • Operate feed equipment — mixers, scales, conveyors, bagging equipment

  • Operate automated bagger; manually stack 50-lb bags on wood pallets (labor-intensive, shared duty)

  • Load/unload trucks safely; inspect item condition

  • Check/identify labels on materials; keep warehouse organized

  • Handle sensitive materials carefully

  • Read work orders, follow oral instructions

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

**Education & Experience

**

  • No prior experience required — reliability and work ethic matter most

  • Ag/livestock/feed/grain/warehouse experience preferred (unlocks top pay)

  • Forklift experience a plus (training provided)

  • Basic computer/math skills, attention to detail, ability to multi-task

  • Reliable, stable employment history

**Physical Demands & Environment

**

Onsite plant; lift 60 lbs consistently, repeatedly lift/stack 50-lb bags; stand/walk 10-hr day; dusty, seasonal weather exposure; split time between warehouse and production floor.

**Compensation & Benefits

**

  • OT: paid over 8 hrs/day (no 40-hr threshold); most employees earn ~10 OT hrs/week

  • PTO: 80 hrs after 6 months, 160 after 1 year, 200 after 10 years (combined sick+vacation); carryover up to 40 hrs (max balance 160)

  • Health insurance: employee-only 80% company-paid; family 20% company-paid; coverage starts ~15–35 days after hire

  • Retirement: company matches first 3% contributed

  • Pay cycle: bi-monthly (15th & 30th, 24 pay periods/yr), paid clock-in to clock-out with paid lunch
