Position Overview:

The Warehouse Operator Trainee assists with the day-to-day operations of the warehouse with key processes such as receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials. They operate equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks, follow safety protocols, maintain inventory accuracy, and support overall warehouse organization and efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming materials and shipments.
  • Organize and put away materials in designated locations.
  • Accurately pick, issue, stage, and deliver material to different departments on site.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Document and record all material transactions in SAP to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Communicate with other departments to quickly resolve issues as they come up.
  • Coordinate with the buyers to resolve paperwork discrepancies and returns.
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries and shipping out samples/small parcels.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform daily safety inspections of work areas and operating equipment.
  • Perform housekeeping in work areas as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial type setting.
  • Experience with inventory systems or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Basic computer skills.

Desired Qualities:

  • Experience with SAP.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to communicate with management and staff professionally and effectively.
