Senior Operations Manager – North America

Position Summary

This role is for an ambitious, hands-on engineer ready to take ownership of North America operations. You will lead end-to-end execution—from warehouse operations to SIOP, inventory, and Dynamics 365 — while acting as the technical interface across customers, sales, and engineering. This is a high-ownership role with direct decision authority and accountability for results.

 Reliable, on-time delivery and strong daily warehouse execution

 High product availability with disciplined control of inventory levels

 Accurate and stable Dynamics 365 processes and master data

 Fast, structured resolution of technical and quality issues

 A cross-trained, accountable team with clear ownership and continuous development.

Core Responsibilities

Inventory, SIOP, Planning, Procurement

 Own and drive the SIOP process for North America

 Align demand, supply, and inventory through structured planning and clear decisions

 Proactively manage constraints, shortages, and priorities

 Lead replenishment decisions to balance service levels and inventory investment

 Translate customer agreements into planning and stocking parameters

 Partner with Sales to forecast demand and adjust inventory strategy

 Own product lifecycle topics, including obsolescence and stock optimization

 Act as Dynamics 365 process owner for NA: ensure master data accuracy and discipline

Engineering & Technical Support

 Act as the primary technical point of responsibility for North America

 Support customers and internal teams with product and application expertise

 Partner closely with Switzerland engineering on projects and product topics

 Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for technical and quality issues

 Deliver product and technical training internally and externally

Quality & Returns (RMA)

 Review and decide on RMA disposition

 Analyze returns trends and drive corrective actions

 Eliminate recurring quality and product issues

Cross-Functional Collaboration

 Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Switzerland-based teams

 Communicate clearly on priorities, constraints, and delivery commitments

 Ensure operational execution meets customer commitments and expectations

Qualifications

Education

 Bachelor’s degree (required) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or Supply Chain Management.

 Master’s degree (preferred): MBA (Operations/Supply Chain), MS Engineering Management, or MS Industrial/Manufacturing/Systems Engineering.

Experience

 8+ years of experience across operations, engineering, or supply chain, with hands-on

responsibility and direct involvement in operational execution.

 Demonstrated ability to operate hands-on while leading—this is not a purely managerial role.

 Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics 365 preferred)

 Track record of solving technical/customer issues and driving corrective actions.

 Experience leading a small team while remaining operationally involved.

Key Skills

 Strong ownership mindset with focus on execution and results

 Hands-on operator: comfortable on the warehouse floor, in systems, and in decision-making settings

 Structured problem-solving and pragmatic continuous improvement approach

 Ability to connect technical detail with business decisions

 Strong communication across functions (sales, finance, logistics, engineering)

 Data-driven mindset with solid Excel / BI capabilities

What Makes This Role Unique

 High level of autonomy with full accountability for results

 Direct exposure to operational and commercial decision-making

 Broad scope across engineering, operations, and business execution

 Close collaboration with global teams in a fast, pragmatic environment
