Warehouse & Materials Supervisor

to lead the material flow that keeps our manufacturing operation running.

This is far more than a traditional warehouse position. You will help build the systems, processes, and team that support a world-class battery manufacturing operation.

What You'll Do

As the Warehouse & Materials Supervisor, you will lead all warehouse and material control activities supporting our manufacturing operation, including receiving, inventory management, production material support, shipping, warehouse personnel, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will partner daily with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure materials are available where they need to be on time, every time.

This position combines leadership, organization, problem solving, and hands-on operational execution.

Primary ResponsibilitiesLead Warehouse Operations

  • Supervise daily warehouse operations and warehouse personnel

  • Establish a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment

  • Coach, train, and develop warehouse employees

  • Assign daily priorities and monitor productivity

  • Build standardized warehouse processes that scale with company growth

Manage Inventory with Precision

  • Maintain inventory accuracy exceeding 99.5%

  • Lead cycle counting and inventory reconciliation activities

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Manage FIFO inventory practices

  • Maintain complete lot traceability for battery cells and manufactured products

  • Support annual physical inventory

Support Manufacturing

  • Ensure production materials are delivered accurately and on schedule

  • Coordinate work order picking and kitting

  • Support production scheduling through effective material planning

  • Minimize production interruptions caused by material shortages

  • Manage Kanban replenishment systems and internal material flow

Receiving and Incoming Materials

  • Coordinate receipt of purchased materials

  • Verify quantities, part numbers, lot numbers, and shipment condition

  • Work closely with Quality during incoming inspection

  • Resolve receiving discrepancies with suppliers and Purchasing

  • Ensure timely ERP receiving transactions

Shipping and Logistics

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments

  • Prepare shipping documentation

  • Support hazardous material and lithium battery shipping requirements

  • Work with freight carriers to ensure on-time customer deliveries

  • Maintain shipping accuracy exceeding 99.8%

ERP & Material Control

Accurately process all warehouse transactions including:

  • Receiving

  • Put-away

  • Inventory transfers

  • Production issues

  • Material returns

  • Shipping

  • Inventory adjustments

  • Cycle count transactions

Safety and Continuous Improvement

  • Promote a strong culture of safety

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives

  • Improve warehouse layout and material flow

  • Develop visual management systems

  • Drive continuous improvement projects that increase productivity and reduce waste

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Five or more years of warehouse or materials management experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Two or more years leading warehouse personnel

  • Experience using ERP systems for inventory management

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field

  • Experience supporting advanced manufacturing operations

  • Experience with battery, automotive, aerospace, electronics, industrial equipment, or medical device manufacturing

  • Experience with barcode and warehouse scanning systems

  • Experience with Odoo ERP or similar ERP platforms

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, 5S, and continuous improvement

  • Experience supporting ISO 9001 quality systems

  • Familiarity with hazardous material shipping regulations and lithium battery logistics

Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the workday

  • Lift up to 70 pounds safely

  • Operate forklifts and material handling equipment

  • Work in both warehouse and manufacturing environments

  • Perform repetitive lifting, bending, and reaching as required
