Job Title: Warehouse Distribution Specialist
Location: Port Allen, LA (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $18/hr on W2
Duration: 6 months contract with possible extension
Position Summary:
The Distribution Specialist is responsible for executing efficient and compliant operations related to the receipt, storage, and movement of materials for both internal and external customers. This includes inbound shipment processing, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance with GMP standards, and coordination of transportation and import/export activities.
Essential Functions:
Receive inbound shipments from internal and external customers (domestic and international).
Complete receipt documentation, enter data into the ERP system, and move materials to appropriate warehouse locations.
Fulfill inventory stocking requests for residual returns from the production floor.
Conduct inventory verification, including cycle counts and batch reconciliations, to ensure inventory accuracy.
Maintain clean and organized storage areas, ensuring proper segregation and compliance with procedures.
Proactively mitigate risks related to improper storage or movement.
Complete all required training and maintain up-to-date certifications.
Recommend and support improvements in work instructions and material flow processes.
Support ad-hoc projects assigned by Materials Management.
Minimum Requirements:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma, Associate’s Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
1–3 years of experience in a warehouse environment handling inbound receipts
Familiarity with handling and transporting dangerous goods
Skills & Competencies:
Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
Working knowledge of GMP, Dangerous Goods (DG), IATA, DOT, IMDG regulations
Strong oral and written communication skills
Attention to detail with solid PC proficiency
Forklift certification (required)
Organizational Relationship:
Reports to the Materials Management Manager
Collaborates closely with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Production, and Quality departments
Working Conditions:
Majority of responsibilities are performed in a warehouse environment
