Job purpose

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for assisting in processing incoming and outgoing shipments of supplies and product; filling Purchase Orders (PO’s) and ensuring all documentation is accurate; assisting with inventory; assisting with proper storage and organization of raw materials and product; receiving and unloading materials from pallets and delivery trucks; preparing outgoing shipments for pick up; sorting and distributing incoming deliveries to appropriate personnel/destination; maintaining a clean, safe and efficient warehouse environment. Also, assisting with warehouse equipment maintenance and cleaning while following safety procedures and Company SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).


Duties and responsibilities

· Assists with processing incoming and outgoing shipments of supplies and product following SOP’s

· Assists with organization of warehouse to ensure all raw materials and product are readily accessible, countable and identifiable

· Assists with inventory and proper documentation

· Stocks materials and products in designated inventory locations and documents and informs management of shortages or damages

· Assists with fulfilling orders and preparing all outgoing shipments for pickup, which includes stacking, wrapping and palletizing all ordered product and loading into trucks via forklift

· Assists with preparing, counting and reconciling end of month inventory

· Assists with minimizing inventory loss, scrap, adjustments and variance

· Assists with organization and storage of all inventories with proper labeling, which includes raw materials and finished goods in all warehouses and cold boxes

· Assists with maintaining quality of inventory by using proper storage equipment and protocols, as well as first-in-first out (FIFO) procedures

· Assists the Tasting Room with restocking of bottled product as well as organization of kegs for Tasting Room use in the cold box

· Operates forklift to transfer materials throughout the warehouse as needed

· Participates in continuing education related to brewery operations and safety and regulatory requirements

· Follows all safety procedures and SOP’s and wear safety, personal protective equipment (PPE)

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Proficiency in communication, including verbal and written skills

· Forklift and hand truck certified or willing to become certified

· Basic computer skills and knowledge of MicroSoft Suite

· Ability to work with hazardous cleaning chemicals

· Ability to routinely lift, push and pull 55 lbs

· Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours a day

· Be motivated, hard-working, safety-minded and innovative with a commitment to representing and enjoying the culture and success of AleSmith

· Be an exceptional team player with the ability to work independently as well

· Ability to stay organized and follow checklists, departmental guidelines and SOP’s

· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

· Prior experience with Inventory Management System and data entry is preferred


Education and/or Experience

A minimum of one year related experience working in a brewery, warehouse, manufacturing or food and beverage role. Prior forklift experience is highly preferred. Brewery experience is highly preferred.
