Location: Fairfield, NJ 07004

Schedule: Full-time; overtime and weekend availability required based on operational needs

Position Summary

Unifoil is seeking a hands-on Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations at our Fairfield, New Jersey facility.

This position is responsible for organizing warehouse activities, coordinating incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate freight documentation, and supervising a team of approximately three to four warehouse employees. The supervisor will also work directly alongside the team, including operating forklifts and clamp trucks when needed.

The ideal candidate is an organized, dependable leader who can balance team supervision with the day-to-day demands of a fast-paced manufacturing and warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize, prioritize, and oversee daily warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities.

  • Supervise, train, and support a team of approximately three to four warehouse employees.

  • Assign daily responsibilities and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.

  • Coordinate and schedule incoming deliveries, outgoing shipments, and carrier pickups.

  • Prepare, review, and maintain bills of lading, packing lists, shipping records, receiving documents, and other required paperwork.

  • Verify incoming and outgoing materials for correct quantities, condition, labeling, and destination.

  • Operate forklifts and clamp trucks safely to load, unload, move, stage, and store materials and finished products.

  • Maintain orderly storage locations and ensure materials are properly labeled and staged.

  • Monitor inventory accuracy, assist with cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies.

  • Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure materials and finished goods move efficiently through the facility.

  • Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and internal departments regarding shipment schedules, delays, and other logistics issues.

  • Resolve shipping, receiving, documentation, and inventory discrepancies promptly.

  • Enforce warehouse safety procedures, equipment requirements, housekeeping standards, and company policies.

  • Inspect warehouse equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse organization, workflow, inventory accuracy, and shipping efficiency.

  • Provide hands-on warehouse support during high-volume periods, employee absences, or other operational needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, or logistics.

  • Previous experience supervising or leading a warehouse team.

  • Demonstrated experience safely operating both forklifts and clamp trucks.

  • Experience coordinating inbound and outbound shipments.

  • Working knowledge of bills of lading and other shipping and receiving documentation.

  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and adjust to changing production and shipping requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when handling inventory and shipment documentation.

  • Basic proficiency with warehouse or inventory systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three or more years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics experience.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, converting, printing, packaging, or related industrial environment.

  • Current forklift or powered industrial truck certification.

  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse management systems.

  • Associate degree or additional training in logistics, supply chain management, operations, or a related field.

Physical and Work Requirements

  • Ability to work in an active warehouse and manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, reach, stoop, and perform material-handling activities.

  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, clamp trucks, and other warehouse equipment.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and adjusted schedules based on shipping, receiving, and production requirements.
