POSITION OVERVIEW
Alpha Oahu is seeking a self-starter and highly motivated individual to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, dependable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Primary responsibilities include loading and unloading materials, operating forklifts, stocking and pulling customer orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and assisting with customer service and counter sales as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions to determine materials to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Move materials and products from receiving areas to storage locations or other designated areas.
- Sort and place materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Pull, stage, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assemble customer orders and place items on pallets, shelves, or designated shipping areas.
- Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
- Mark materials with identifying information and record quantities received or distributed.
- Open and unpack bales, crates, boxes, and other containers.
- Weigh, count, and verify materials to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
- Maintain organized warehouse storage areas and inventory locations.
- Use computers and warehouse systems to enter records, process transactions, and generate worksheets or tickets.
- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport materials throughout the warehouse and yard as needed.
- Complete requisition forms and maintain inventory records.
- Assist customers and support counter sales operations when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous warehouse, forklift, lumberyard, building materials, or distribution experience preferred.
- Forklift certification or experience preferred.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED preferred. Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, forklift, or inventory experience is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling. Employees must be capable of lifting and moving heavy materials on a regular basis. The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
