The Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) Case Manager will play a key role in assisting homeless veterans to overcome barriers and achieve stability in employment. This position provides comprehensive case management services to homeless veterans, helping them secure meaningful employment and access needed resources. The Case Manager will work with veterans to develop personalized employment plans and collaborate with local organizations to ensure holistic support.
Job Responsibilities
Case Management Role
Conduct intake and comprehensive assessments of homeless veterans to determine eligibility and identify employment barriers.
Develop and implement individualized employment service plans, focusing on strengths, needs, and potential interventions to overcome barriers.
Provide ongoing case management services, including regular check-ins, goal setting, and employment progress monitoring.
Collaborate with community organizations, shelters, and veteran service organizations to ensure access to needed support services (housing, counseling, health care, etc.).
Work closely with veterans to refer to appropriate job opportunities.
Connect veterans with essential supportive services, including transportation, work attire, and tools necessary for employment success.
Provide job readiness training and guidance on workplace expectations, soft skills, and professional development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all client interactions and services in compliance with HVRP program guidelines.
Community Collaboration
Establish and maintain strong relationships with local veteran service providers, employers, housing agencies, and community partners.
Attend community events and network with organizations to build awareness of Goodwill's veteran services.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of local resources and refer veterans to community programs as necessary.
Ensure adherence to all reporting requirements, standards, and regulations of the HVRP program.
Job-Driven Training and Employment Support
Develop and facilitate job-driven training programs in collaboration with local employers and training providers, ensuring veterans receive training tailored to current labor market demands.
Work with veterans to identify appropriate training opportunities, including certifications, vocational programs, and on-the-job training that align with their career goals and local employment needs.
Coordinate job placement efforts, ensuring that veterans are matched with employers who can offer long-term, stable employment opportunities based on the skills they acquire through training.
Monitor veterans' progress during and after job-driven training to ensure successful completion and transition into employment.
Provide ongoing support and follow-up with veterans and employers to address any issues that may arise during the training or employment process.
Develop individualized plans to help veterans become job-ready, including resume preparation, mock interviewing, and barrier removal
Collaborate with SSVF, VA, HUD-VASH, American Job Centers, and local housing providers to deliver holistic services
Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Previous experience with workforce development or employment services.
Valid CA driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background check and any required security clearances.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in case management with homeless populations or veterans.
Personal experience as a Veteran
Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Services, Counseling, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Strong knowledge of veteran-specific issues and homelessness.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to collaborate effectively with community partners and external agencies.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and client management databases.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Strong sense of empathy and accountability, with a passion for helping vulnerable populations.
Knowledge of local resources for veterans, including housing, employment, healthcare, and benefits programs.
Working Conditions
This job is performed indoors in a typical office environment, with regular interactions with clients, community partners, and external agencies. The position may require occasional travel for client meetings, community outreach, and collaboration with partner organizations.

$30– $32 hourly
