Job Description
General Mechanic role, and The Commercial Driver role in Transportation at BAE Systems Inc. involves performing maintenance and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from small engines to heavy-duty construction equipment. The role requires adaptability, as the business has a variety of duties that include vehicle repair, inspection, parts ordering, service calls, and operating a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) for pickup and deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vehicle repair and maintenance (PM)
- Vehicle inspection
- PIT inspection and repair (power industrial trucks)
- Parts ordering
- Service calls, including roadside breakdowns
- Vehicle/equipment audits and assessments
- Operating a CMV for pickup and deliveries
- Other duties as required

Required Skills and Education
- 3 years of experience in an automotive repair shop (gasoline or diesel) or completion of a trade school with a certificate
- 3 years of experience operating a CMV with references or a CDL A or B
- Clean driving record (contingent on hire)
- Ability to work in different environments, including extreme cold and heat
Preferred Skills and Education
- CDL A or B
- Welding experience
- Automotive school certificate
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
