Job Overview:

Our client is seeking experienced Valve Technicians to support repair, maintenance, and testing operations within refinery and industrial plant environments. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical background who is comfortable working both in the shop and in the field during plant turnarounds and service calls.

This is a hands-on position requiring strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in industrial environments.

**Shift: **6am-4:30pm (some overtime may be required)

Pay: $18.00-25.00/hr DOE

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and service relief valves, control valves, and manual valves from teardown through final testing
  • Perform valve disassembly, inspection, cleaning, repair, reassembly, and calibration
  • Conduct field service work, including on-site repair and testing during plant turnarounds and outages
  • Read and interpret work orders, specifications, and technical documents
  • Operate auxiliary testing equipment and tools safely and accurately
  • Coordinate job setup, scheduling, and follow-up activities
  • Communicate professionally with customers and plant personnel on job progress and technical issues
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment responsibly
  • Participate in rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for emergency service support
  • Maintain strong safety practices and comply with all plant and company procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of valve technician or related mechanical experience in refinery, petrochemical, power generation, or industrial plant environments
  • Experience working turnarounds/shutdowns in refinery or plant settings strongly preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment
  • Ability to disassemble and rebuild valves independently
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to pass physical, drug screen, and random testing requirements
  • Comfortable with travel and overnight stays as needed (approximately 50% travel)
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety awareness
  • Ability to work independently and maintain productivity with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer proficiency required
  • High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Experience

  • Machining experience
  • Welding or fabrication experience
  • Power generation or petrochemical maintenance background
  • Experience operating/testing pressure relief or control valve systems
