Job Description Summary

This position will provide relief for the co-product fryer and the mainline fryer.

Job Description

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Have a working knowledge of the equipment used for the co-product fryer and mainline fryer.
  • Monitor all the waste totes in processing.
  • Monitor the former. Check revolutions per minute on former head; adjust the wizard gauge to maintain pressure; adjust the auger, if needed.
  • Help with cut changes on the mainline and co-product line.
  • Monitor the fryer. Set time and temperature and always be aware of fluctuations in time and temperature of the fryer and adjust, if needed, to maintain specified levels.
  • Prepare and maintain co-product and mainline process control data sheets.
  • Must be able to load and unload oil trucks and move oil from tank to tank.
  • Check for oil quality/oil levels in the co-product fryer and the mainline fryer.
  • Able to pump oil in and out of the fryers.
  • Check for product quality at inspection tables.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment. Sunday clean-up mainline boil-outs.
  • Willing to train other utility/relief operators.
  • Must know the location of SAPP, Dextrose, DM, and salt.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively engaged in safety, participate in safety programs, engage in safety activities, perform risk assessments and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members. Report all near misses, incidents, and any safety concerns.

  • Possess a working knowledge of how the equipment works.
  • Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Must be able to balance teamwork and individual responsibilities.
  • Must be able to work well under pressure.
  • Sanitation qualified
  • Must be forklift qualified. If not, must meet requirements to become forklift certified.

EDUCATION

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing.

A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.
