The Assistant Utility Operator supports production operations by assisting machine operators, monitoring product quality, maintaining an organized work area, and ensuring production runs efficiently. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn multiple departments and production processes.
Assist machine operators with the setup, operation, and monitoring of production equipment.
Inspect products for quality defects and immediately communicate any issues to the production team.
Help maintain inventory levels and organize production materials.
Perform basic preventive maintenance (PM) tasks and maintain a clean, safe work area.
Provide relief coverage for team members during breaks and lunches.
Learn multiple production areas and cross-train on various equipment and tasks.
Read and understand production schedules to help ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies.
Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet daily production goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous manufacturing or production experience is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Willingness to learn new skills and work in multiple departments.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Must be able to successfully complete a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen and physical examination.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and moving machinery.
