**Work schedule:
**8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
**Pay rate:
** $19.00 -$21.00/hour, depending on experience
**Job highlights:
**
Repair water and sewer leaks by digging holes and trenches, using backhoes and other equipment, and placing necessary shoring
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on water and sewer lines by unclogging lines using hydro-jets, routers, and hand tools, exercising and/or replacing valves, repairing lift station pumps, testing for low water pressure
Perform utility line locates
Perform leak site dress-up
Run new main feeders and service lines
Read and maintain various flow meters, water interconnects, meters/gauges at lift stations, water booster stations, and other utility appurtenances
Repair water lines in city buildings
Maintain grounds at field operations, lift stations, booster stations, plants, and other facilities
Perform chlorine tests on new lines
Clear brush, trees, and other road debris from city streets and place barricades at low water crossing during heavy rains
**What we’re looking for:

Ability to enter confined spaces
Ability to operate a backhoe, dump truck, pump truck, hydro-jet, hand and power tools
Ability to operate electronic leak correlator and acoustic leak sounding system
Ability to give and follow clear instructions
Good communication skills
Punctual, reliable, dependable
High school diploma or GED – may be substituted for applicable work experience
