The Utility - Wash Rack Technician is responsible for the wash rack activities and cleaning of equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate equipment wash activities with production and maintenance team members.
  • Pressure washing and cleaning the exterior of large and small equipment, as well as light vehicles.
  • Care and maintenance of all wash rack related equipment, including daily pre-op checks.
  • Moving heavy and light equipment to and from different areas as needed for maintenance and/or cleaning.
  • General housekeeping and upkeep of safety equipment, wash rack area, shop areas, and other areas as needed.
  • Assist all service team members with routine inspections, minor repairs, and general maintenance as directed.
  • Daily Reporting of units cleaned, inspection records and other documents as directed.
  • Must be able to safely operate a compact track loader to fill containment bunker.
  • Perform tasks from verbal/written instructions and communicate effectively with supervisor and fellow employees.
  • Keep work area clean, orderly and in a safe operating condition.
  • Complete daily work assignments in a timely fashion.
  • Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company safety policies, procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Actively participate in safety huddles. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to competently perform daily pre-shift safety inspection on a compact track loader.
  • Ability to safely operate Start-Move-Stop function of Heavy Equipment after being task trained.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

  • High School or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a wash rack cleaning heavy equipment preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required to drive company vehicles on property.
  • Current or prior MSHA part 48 training is a plus.

WORK CONDITIONS:

  • Cold weather with occasional snowfall in the winter, hot weather in the summer up to 100F, constant and sustained wind at times.
  • The wash rack is a wet environment, with mud and grease all around the area. Rubber steel toed boots as well as raingear, rubber gloves, face shield, goggles, safety glasses and other PPE may be required to be worn.
  • This position is currently a Day Shift position required to begin work at 5:45 AM and works on average 8-10 hour days as required to meet the demands of the business. Overtime or weekend work may be required.
  • This position is expected to work Monday through Friday. The shift may change based on company need.
