Utilities Mechanic

• $35 - $45 /hour

We are working with an established food production company based in Frederick, MD. They are recruiting for a Utilities Mechanic to join their team during their 1st or 3rd shifts in return for a salary in the region of **$35 - $45 /hour **along with excellent employment benefits which include 401K, Healthcare, Vision and Dental, PTO and Life Assurance.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Service and repair air compressors, boilers, HVAC, water systems, softeners, and power utility equipment
• Operate and maintain industrial refrigeration systems (Ammonia & CO₂)
• Conduct daily rounds, monitor temperatures and humidity, and make minor adjustments
• Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on refrigeration, compressors, pumps, fans, heat exchangers, glycol systems, motors, and power distribution systems
• Participate in process improvements, system enhancements, and work prioritization to minimize downtime
• Monitor boilers and air compressors; perform or schedule maintenance as needed
• Conduct water treatment testing and boiler efficiency checks
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience required:

• Holds an Ammonia Operator and willing to obtain a Boiler Operator certification (Grade 5).
• Able to handle and instructions on ammonia refrigerant system.
• Able to safely replace mechanical and electrical components including motors, motor starters, switches, solenoids, pumps, refrigeration valves, compressors, and auxiliary refrigeration equipment.
• Able to read and interpret schematics and drawings to troubleshoot electrical issues.
• Experience in SAP preferred.
• Self-motivation with a strong drive for results; must be able to deliver objectives with only minimal supervision.
• Proven leadership ability; must serve as a role model in the areas of safety, quality, workplace conduct, attendance, etc. Effective verbal and written skills.
• Computer proficiency is required in Outlook, Microsoft office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
