Job Overview:

**Upright Induction Painter:

**

The upright induction Painter/Operator applies specialized dry paint powder to steel uprights, prepping surfaces, operating paint booth, and curing items in ovens. They manage colour changes, ensure proper thickness and adhesion, maintain equipment, and inspect finished products for quality. Key skills include manual dexterity, attention to detail, and safety compliance.

Surface Preparation: Maintain pre-treatment degreaser, rinsing, and phosphating tanks prior powder coating process.

Application: Operate electrostatic paint booth to apply powder uniformly to parts on a conveyor line.

Equipment Operation: Adjust booth settings, air pressure, spray guns, and oven temperatures.

Quality Control: Inspect parts before and after painting for defects, ensuring proper coating thickness (mil thickness).

Maintenance & Cleanliness: Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot paint booths, hoppers, and spray guns.

Color Changes: Perform efficient changeovers of powder types and colors.

Responsible for the powder thickness and color requested by the customer.

Responsible for the pre-treatment and parameters on induction coils.

Operates conveyors for profile transport

Quality:

Bath controls: ph tab, titration products

Powder thickness checks: Elcometer

Temperature Control: Infrared Camera

PPE: glasses, overalls, mask, safety shoes, earplugs, cap

Blow guns

ATEX vacuum cleaner to clean the floor, powder bin etc

Cleaning machine to clean the floor

Plastic bag + shovel or dust collector to collect powder.

Spare parts for preventive maintenance

Qualifications

Experience: Previous experience in industrial painting or powder coating is often required.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with spray equipment, safety protocols, and ability to read blueprints.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent generally required.
