Summary
Under general direction, performs a variety of job responsibilities which may include unloading and proper storage of turf products from commercial trucks and loading of company delivery trucks with customer orders, delivery of fertilizer and chemical products to customers from the Unit office,. Maintenance of warehouse facility, inside and out, to help ensure the facility is operating in a clean manner. Respond to customer questions on turf equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- May assist with recordkeeping related to warehouse/inventory responsibilities.
- Unload turf, seed, and fertilizer products from commercial delivery trucks. Ensure proper storage and handling of products. Load company delivery trucks with customer products. Pulls parts from inventory by use of forklift, or other company equipment.
- Additional Key Activities: Seasonally, long hours may be required.
- Maintenance of warehouse facility to include any repairs needed on operational equipment and troubleshooting. Ensure cleanliness of facility inside and out. Maintain clean and orderly warehouse.
- Maintain product equipment and assist customers with equipment installation and use of turf equipment, i.e.. sprayers etc. Assist in misc. warehouse duties, i.e. inventories etc. Analyze returned equipment and recommend corrective procedures.
- Miscellaneous duties such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, etc.
Typical Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Relevant Experience
- Two plus years related experience and/or training.
- Forklift experience is required.
- Knowledge of the local geography is preferred to assist in locating farms and fields.
- Ability to maintain maintenance records for equipment.
- Ability to take on dispatching duties when necessary.
- Ability to lift 50lbs multiple times throughout the day.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
