Heidtman Tubular Products, a Heidtman Steel company, is looking for a 2nd shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) Production Supervisor for our Tube Mill operations at our Erie, MI facility. Training for this position will be during 1st shift.

The Tube Mill Supervisor is responsible for overseeing plant operating activities in order to meet business objectives. You will be accountable for all aspects of plant performance and will ensure that objectives are obtained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with the Quality requirements for products. You will work hand and hand with other supervisors as well as shop floor employees to assist in meeting our production requirements. This is a “Hands-on” job that will require working alongside your employees.

Responsibilities:

• Training, planning, assigning and directing work in a manufacturing environment
• All aspects of plant performance and will ensure that objectives are obtained in a cost-effective manner that’s consistent with the quality requirements for products
• Work hands-on with other supervisors as well as production employees to assist in meeting our production requirements
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Continuous improvement of tube mill operation and employees
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven track record of having strong Leadership Skills
• Minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a production environment
• Prior experience in the steel industry (required); Tube Mill experience (preferred)
• Work in a fast paced environment and work overtime as needed
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Computer literacy
• Quality audit experience (preferred)
