Position: Truck Loader / Receiving Operator 

Department: Production Reports 

To: Production Manager

 Supervises: None 

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Truck Loader / Receiving Operator is responsible for accurately staging, verifying, loading, receiving, and organizing product that moves between CITY’s production facility, distribution centers, and customer locations. This position plays a key role in making sure each distribution center receives the correct products, in the correct quantities, and on the correct truck.

The main performance focus for this position is fill rate accuracy. The Truck Loader / Receiving Operator must ensure all required products are loaded completely, organized properly, documented accurately, and sent to the correct location. This role directly supports customer service, route readiness, inventory control, warehouse organization, and on-time delivery.

This position is also responsible for receiving customer-sold product, one-way items, route supplies, and other inventory items, as well as placing and organizing product in the plant warehouse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Stage and load clean product for shipment to CITY distribution centers.

· Verify that all required products are loaded for the correct destination.

· Ensure product is loaded accurately, completely, and in an organized manner.

· Confirm carts, baskets, rails, garment racks, hanger racks, lockers, repair bags, route supplies, customer-sold products, and one-way items are sent to the correct location.

· Review load sheets, invoices, route paperwork, packing slips, or other documents to confirm loading and receiving accuracy.

· Load semi-trucks trailers with clean laundry.

· Receive incoming product, including one-way items, customer-sold products, route supplies, inventory items, and other warehouse materials.

· Verify received product against packing slips, purchase orders, invoices, or other receiving documents as needed.

· Place received product in the correct warehouse location

· Keep warehouse inventory organized, labeled, rotated, and easy to locate.

· Receive route returns, empty carts, soiled laundry, and other items coming back from distribution centers.

· Identify and report missing items, shortages, extra product, damaged carts, damaged product, mislabeled carts, receiving discrepancies, or incorrect destination tags.

· Communicate with supervisors, production teams, service teams, purchasing, warehouse employees, and drivers to resolve loading, receiving, or inventory concerns.

· Help track product movement and communicate inventory concerns that may impact fill rate, delivery accuracy, or customer orders.

· Keep dock areas, staging areas, warehouse areas, aisles, and loading zones clean, organized, and free of hazards.

· Assist with counting, weighing, scanning, labeling, or documenting incoming and outgoing product as required.

· Follow all company safety procedures when moving carts, loading trucks, receiving product, and working around docks and trailers.

· Maintain positive and professional communication with co-workers, drivers, supervisors, purchasing, service, production, and other departments.

· Support other production, shipping, receiving, warehouse, and inventory duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

· Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, loading, production, laundry, or material-handling experience preferred.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Ability to follow load sheets, route instructions, labels, destination information, packing slips, and receiving documents.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

· Basic math skills for counting, verifying quantities, and checking load or receiving requirements.

· Good communication skills with supervisors, production employees, drivers, purchasing, warehouse, service teams, and other departments.

· Dependable attendance and ability to complete work within scheduled loading and receiving windows.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Must follow company safety, quality, inventory, warehouse, and production procedures.

· Experience using carts, pallet jacks, scanners, or other material-handling equipment preferred. Equipment may only be operated when properly trained and authorized.

Physical Demands

This position requires regular physical activity throughout the shift, including but not limited to:

· Standing and walking for extended periods of time.

· Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, twisting, grasping, and repetitive hand movement.

· Lifting up to 60 pounds.

· Pushing and pulling loaded carts or equipment weighing up to 115 pounds or more with assistance or proper equipment.

· Working around trucks, trailers, docks, carts, production equipment, warehouse inventory, and moving traffic.

· Working in areas with temperature changes, noise, humidity, dust, and exposure to clean and soiled laundry.

· Wearing proper personal protective equipment as required.

Work Environment

The Truck Loader / Receiving Operator works in a production, warehouse, dock, receiving, and laundry environment. The position may include exposure to clean linen, soiled laundry, customer product, warehouse inventory, moving trucks, carts, racks, trailers, and changing temperatures. The employee must follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
