What you will do:

The Treasury and Tax analyst position will support the organization’s objectives by being responsible for all cash and treasury related activities for the company- including banking relationships, cash flow management, cash flow reporting, and cash forecasting. This role partners closely with the Assistant Corporate controller on managing the income tax function, supporting the tax compliance process by an outside firm, and providing tax support for company projects. Will also assist with the FP&A team on forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, and additional ad-hoc projects.

Here’s a day in the life:

  • Monitor daily cash positions and forecast short-term cash needs

  • Responsible with daily recording of business banking transactions

  • Responsible for forecasting and budgeting within designated areas of treasury and tax

  • Establish and maintain relationships banks and manage bank accounts

  • Responsible for ongoing monitoring and recording of Treasury portfolio

  • Monitor bank fees and perform quarterly analysis

  • Support bank account management including account opening, closing, maintaining signatory lists, and KYC

  • Prepare monthly covenant compliance certificates

  • Responsible for the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts within designated areas of ownership, including more complex accounts.

  • Responsible for reporting and preparation of monthly tax returns

  • Assist with internal income tax projections

  • Initiate and manage Federal and State tax payments

  • Assist with Federal and State Notice response

  • Prepare for and assist with Sales and Use Audits

  • Prepare Property tax returns and associated reporting

  • Responsible for preparing Sales tax returns and associated reporting

  • Prepare for and assist with Sales and Use Audits

  • Work in collaboration to assess the need for additional software and technologies, and assist with the integration

  • Responsible for unclaimed property reporting

  • Complete credit applications

  • Work with cross functional partners to ensure the accurate and efficient flow of internal and external data into the general ledger.

  • Assist with pre-audit preparations including auditor interaction; prepare interim and year-end audit work papers.

  • Provide general accounting support.

  • Compute and prepare reports with analysis as requested by managers and executives.

  • Contributes as needed to policy updates.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public.

  • Communicate effectively.

  • Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint. Knowledge of ERP systems is required; D365 experience is a plus.

  • Act as a team player, work cross functionally and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the organization.

  • Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects

  • simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

EDUCATION

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

  • CMA or CPA is a plus.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ Years of progressive finance and accounting experience within tax and/or treasury

  • Relevant Income and/or sales tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting firm, or major law firm

  • Experience with external auditors is preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

  • Experience with ERP Systems, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.

  • Must demonstrate exceptional proficiency in Excel.

  • Ability to build confidence and trust with department members and external business partners.
