Traveling Journeyman Electrician – Commercial Service & National Retail Projects
$25–$50/Hour + Overtime | W2 Contract | Company-Paid Hotels + Per Diem | Nationwide Opportunities
Put Your Electrical Skills to Work Across the Country
JARBO is hiring experienced, licensed Journeyman Electricians for commercial and industrial electrical service projects and nationwide retail installation programs.
We're looking for electricians who know how to get the job done: troubleshoot electrical problems, install circuits and conduit, make equipment connections, follow blueprints, and complete quality work without constant supervision.
These opportunities include ongoing electrical service assignments and a specialized three-month retail rollout. Whether your background is in commercial construction, industrial electrical maintenance, facility service, or traveling installation projects, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
Depending on your assignment, responsibilities may include:
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical systems in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Installing wiring, electrical circuits, EMT conduit, junction boxes, panels, lighting, and equipment power connections.
- Completing electrical upgrades and installations at retail stores, warehouses, distribution centers, and other commercial locations.
- Installing and connecting power supplies, electronic door controls, access-control equipment, and associated low-voltage or network cabling on designated projects.
- Reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and scopes of work to complete installations accurately.
- Testing and verifying completed installations for proper operation and applicable code compliance.
- Documenting completed work with digital photos, checklists, and marked-up as-built drawings.
- Working independently or with small field teams while representing the company professionally at customer sites.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Active state-level Journeyman Electrician license.
- Proven hands-on commercial and/or industrial electrical experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform installations independently.
- Strong understanding of electrical drawings, circuits, conduit, wiring methods, and NEC requirements.
- Willingness to travel extensively and work a high-overtime schedule.
- Valid driver's license and ability to meet the client's driving requirements, including being at least 21 years old and having no DUI/DWI within the past three years.
- Ability to complete required background and drug screening.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English with customers and document field work.
Preferred, but not required:
- Retail rollout, multi-site installation, or traveling electrical service experience.
- Electronic access control, low-voltage wiring, CAT5e, or structured cabling experience.
- Experience with emergency lighting, UPS systems, generators, or equipment hookups.
- Boom/scissor lift certification or willingness to obtain it and safely work at heights.
You do not need to know every brand or system we work with. Strong commercial electrical skills and the ability to learn new equipment are what matter most.
Two Types of Assignments Available
Option 1: Ongoing Commercial Electrical Service Projects
- Pay: $30–$50/hour, depending on experience and location.
- Travel: Primarily projects within your home region, with assignments commonly lasting 3–6 weeks. Out-of-region assignments may require flights, provided by the company.
- Hours: Typically averaging 60+ hours per week, with significant overtime opportunities.
- Transportation: Personal reliable vehicle required initially for regional travel. Paid drive time and mileage reimbursement; current listed reimbursement is $0.76/mile. A company vehicle is expected upon conversion to direct hire, generally after approximately 3–6 months.
