Industrial Controls Field Service Technician

We are looking for an Industrial Controls Field Service Technician to join our team and support customers across the U.S. and Canada.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, traveling to customer sites, and working with industrial controls, electrical systems, instrumentation, pumps, and water treatment equipment.

What You’ll Do

As an Industrial Controls Field Service Technician, you will support the installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of advanced municipal water treatment systems.

You will:

• Travel to customer sites across the U.S. and Canada to provide technical field support
• Install, start up, commission, troubleshoot, and maintain water treatment equipment and control systems
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, VFDs, control panels, instrumentation, and electrical systems
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues and identify root causes
• Perform functional testing and equipment commissioning
• Work with pumps, pumping systems, instrumentation, and water/wastewater equipment
• Read and interpret P&IDs, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system layouts
• Troubleshoot sensors and instrumentation, including flow, pressure, level, and temperature devices
• Support preventative maintenance and equipment repairs
• Provide technical guidance and training to customers
• Work closely with customers, project teams, engineering, and internal support teams
• Document service activities, troubleshooting findings, repairs, and recommendations
• Follow all Environmental, Safety & Health (ESH) requirements and safe work practices

• Three-phase electrical systems
• Low- and medium-voltage electrical equipment
• Electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
• Instrumentation and sensors
• Pumps and pumping systems
• Water and wastewater treatment equipment
• Equipment startup and commissioning
• Preventative maintenance
• Network and controls troubleshooting
• P&IDs and electrical/wiring diagrams
• Conduit, grounding, and electrical distribution
• LOTO and industrial safety procedures

Municipal water and wastewater experience is highly valued, but it is not required. Candidates with strong experience in manufacturing, industrial automation, controls, electrical, instrumentation, or other technical field service environments are encouraged to apply.

Experience with ServiceMax is a plus.

Travel & Schedule

This position is designed for someone who enjoys being in the field and working directly with customers.

• 75%+ travel throughout the U.S. and Canada
• Typical schedule: travel Monday and Friday, with onsite customer work Tuesday–Thursday
• Travel may include municipal water/wastewater facilities, manufacturing facilities, construction sites, and industrial locations
• Must be comfortable working independently at customer sites
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work around operating industrial equipment
• Valid driver's license required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport for travel between the U.S. and Canada
