This position is fully travel-based, supporting manufacturing operations through long-term on-site deployments

Position Overview

Nordic Solutions is actively recruiting Traveling CNC Maintenance Technicians for long-term projects located throughout the United States. These roles are critical to maintaining production equipment, minimizing machine downtime, and supporting our clients in meeting aggressive production goals.

We are seeking experienced, self-motivated technicians who can independently diagnose, repair, and prevent equipment failures in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related failures on CNC equipment

  • Repair or replace machine components to minimize downtime and restore production quickly

  • Perform and support preventive maintenance activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of preventive maintenance programs

  • Install, repair, and maintain hydraulic, coolant, and pneumatic systems associated with CNC machines

  • Utilize ladder logic diagnostics at the control panel to quickly isolate and identify issues

  • Repair or replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other machine-related components

  • Troubleshoot failures of mechanical and electromechanical systems

  • Manage multiple projects and priorities in a rapidly changing environment

  • Communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and team members

  • Follow all safety practices, security protocols, and PPE requirements

  • Maintain knowledge of CNC controls, drives, and electrical power distribution systems

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to preventive maintenance and equipment reliability

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of verifiable hands-on experience maintaining CNC machines (required)

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and control systems

  • Knowledge of CNC controls, drives, and power distribution

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow direction

  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively

Compensation & Benefits

  • **$42+/hour

**

  • **Time-and-a-half for overtime

**

  • **Overtime availability:

    ** Based on clients’ needs

  • **Daily per diem:

    ** $100–$180 (based on project) to cover lodging, meals, and incidentals

  • **Mileage reimbursement:

    ** One-time inbound $0.70/mile for travel to client location

  • Exposure to challenging, high-impact environments that will continue to expand your technical skill set
