Nationwide Travel | Access Control | CCTV | Security Systems | Low Voltage

We are seeking experienced Traveling Access Control / Low Voltage Technicians for commercial installation and service projects throughout the United States.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians with backgrounds in access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion alarm, electronic security, fire alarm, structured cabling, or other commercial low-voltage systems who are comfortable traveling extensively for project-based work.

Candidates do not need experience with every system listed below. We are interested in technicians with strong hands-on low-voltage installation and troubleshooting experience who are willing to learn additional systems.

What You'll Do

• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair commercial access control systems
• Install and service CCTV/video surveillance and intrusion alarm systems
• Install card readers, door contacts, request-to-exit devices, electric strikes, maglocks, control panels, and related equipment
• Pull, route, terminate, label, and test low-voltage and composite cable
• Install conduit and perform basic pathway work as required
• Drill through concrete, walls, and other building materials for cable and equipment installation
• Read and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and site maps
• Complete wiring, device installation, connections, testing, and system checkout
• Troubleshoot wiring, devices, communication issues, and system components
• Test systems to confirm proper operation before project completion
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Installation Leads, customers, and other trades
• Document completed work and communicate project status
• Provide on-site technical support and troubleshooting
• Follow customer, company, and job-site safety requirements

Preferred experience includes hands-on installation, service, or troubleshooting of one or more of the following:

• Access control systems
• Card readers and credential systems
• Electric strikes and maglocks
• Door contacts and REX devices
• Access control panels
• CCTV / IP cameras
• Video surveillance systems
• Intrusion / burglar alarm systems
• Fire alarm systems
• Structured cabling
• Cat5e / Cat6 cabling
• Voice and data cabling
• Commercial low-voltage systems

Additional Qualifications

• Experience working in commercial buildings or similar job-site environments
• Ability to use common hand tools, power tools, drills, meters, and low-voltage installation tools
• Ability to read blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and site maps
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable using smartphones, computers, email, spreadsheets, and electronic work systems
• Strong communication and customer-service skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of an installation team
• Ability to safely work from ladders and lifts when required
• Basic low-voltage/telecom tools and PPE
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet company driving requirements

Travel Requirements

This is a heavily traveling position.

Candidates must be comfortable with:

• Approximately 75–100% nationwide travel
• Overnight and extended travel
• Traveling to project sites throughout the United States
• Flexible schedules based on project requirements
• Occasional night, weekend, or off-shift work
• Working at different commercial customer locations

Candidates with previous experience in traveling construction, field service, nationwide installation, rollout projects, telecom, security systems, fire alarm, or low-voltage project work are strongly encouraged to apply.

Related Experience We Will Consider

You do not have to currently hold the title "Access Control Technician."
