Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and management of mechanical engineering projects within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, and a proven track record of executing projects in a manufacturing plant setting. Experience within the steel industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs, layouts, equipment specifications, and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.

• Design and improve manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and plant systems.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.

• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during project execution.

• Review engineering documents, technical specifications, and vendor drawings.

• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

• 3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer.

• Strong mechanical design experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.

• Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment.

• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

• Ability to travel 60–70% of the time

Preferred

• Experience in the steel manufacturing industry.

• Knowledge of fabrication, welding, material handling systems, and industrial equipment.

• Experience with capital projects, equipment commissioning, and process improvement initiatives.

• Familiarity with industrial safety standards and manufacturing best practices.
