We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and management of mechanical engineering projects within a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical design experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, and a proven track record of executing projects in a manufacturing plant setting. Experience within the steel industry is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Develop mechanical designs, layouts, equipment specifications, and detailed engineering drawings using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
Design and improve manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and plant systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
Conduct site visits and provide technical support during project execution.
Review engineering documents, technical specifications, and vendor drawings.
Support continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
3+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Project Engineer.
Strong mechanical design experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
Experience working in a manufacturing plant environment.
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to travel 60–70% of the time
Preferred
Experience in the steel manufacturing industry.
Knowledge of fabrication, welding, material handling systems, and industrial equipment.
Experience with capital projects, equipment commissioning, and process improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with industrial safety standards and manufacturing best practices.
