Travel Aircraft Painter - $30/Hour

FlexTrades is seeking experienced Travel Aircraft Painters for nationwide aerospace manufacturing projects. This position involves preparing, masking, mixing, and applying coatings to aircraft components while meeting strict aerospace quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare aircraft components by cleaning, masking, plugging, and taping surfaces.
• Apply primers and topcoats using HVLP and air-assisted spray systems.
• Mix coatings and verify viscosity according to manufacturing specifications.
• Adjust paint equipment settings based on temperature, humidity, and application requirements.
• Perform stenciling, touch-up work, and occasional roll-on painting.
• Measure coating thickness using digital gauges and Elcometer equipment.
• Read and follow manufacturing orders, paint specifications, and curing instructions.
• Maintain quality standards and ensure coatings meet aerospace requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous aircraft painting, aerospace finishing, or automotive paint experience.
• Experience operating HVLP and air-assisted paint systems.
• Ability to mix paints and coatings according to specifications.
• Familiarity with coating thickness measurement tools and quality inspections.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finishes.
• Ability to work in a physically active environment around large aircraft components.

Preferred Experience

• Aerospace manufacturing or aircraft painting experience.
• Experience with Mil-Spec coatings and aluminized primers.
• Stenciling and aerospace finishing experience.
