SHIFT DETAILS:
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for transferring a specified number of eggs from egg buggies to setter machine. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
* Proper machine set-up, “A.M. Cycle” at the beginning of the shift.
* Properly remove buggies from incubator.
* Use proper egg removal technique and pattern when removing eggs from an incubator buggy.
* Stack baskets properly without damaging eggs.
* Loosen all adhered egg shell from egg trays before returning tray to the egg rack.
* Remove any contaminated eggs from egg tray before transferring into machine.
* Proper machine shut-down, “P.M. Cycle” prior to putting machines away.’’
* Clean all drains, floors and doors by using disinfect in each hatcher room and put away all cleaning supplies and trash.
* Assist with the washing of egg trays, egg racks and incubator buggies. Place all racks and buggies in designated areas.
* Report to the Egg Supervisor all mechanical problems and egg issues encountered.
* Assist with traying eggs for the following days set when required.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Egg Supervisor.

* In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following qualifications:
** Must be able to lift 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques.
** Must be able to work in noisy, hot, humid areas, dust, foul odors and chemical reactions.
** Must be able to wear required PPE.
** Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
** Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, twist and kneel.
