LETEM Transportation is in search of a result-oriented Trailer Mechanic. Our Transportation department consists of 200 Dry Van’s and 20 Flat Beds. The main responsibility of our Trailer Mechanic is to maintain a strict PM schedule, repair floors, walls, ceiling, and perform duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing components and part upgrades.
- Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
- Enhance maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Perform Safety inspections of equipment and prepare safety documents required by the Federal Motor carrier Safety administration (FMCSA), Company and the other federal, state, or local regulations.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that the work meets manufacturer’s specifications and legislated regulations experience in the trailer PMs and repairs
Job Requirements
- 1 years of experience in the Trailer Mechanic field or equivalent Trade or Vocational training in Trailer Mechanics with working knowledge of:
- Wood and metal Trailer Floor repairs
- Trailer wall and Ceiling repairs
- Trailer equipment electrical systems
- Welding and fabricating
- High School Diploma/GED and Trade or Vocational Training preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Good written and verbal skills
- Must have a good set of basic working hand tools
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts and over time as needed
- Must be able to meet physical requirements of position (lifting up to 50lbs, bending, climbing, standing for duration of shift, etc.)
