Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel, Inc is a multi-location, full-service trailer dealership with an immediate opening at its Springfield, MA.  We are looking for a Trailer Mechanic with body work experience to join our team of trailer professionals.

 Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installations, etc. for various make and models of semi-trailers and related equipment with an emphasis on bodywork.
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform body repairs and/or replace and upgrade a variety of trailer parts including but not limited to panels, roofs, nose rails, lower & upper rails, shortening units and doors.
  • Perform detailed inspections of the trailers, providing a description of any problematic areas that need to be addressed.
  • Ensure the final work product meets all quality standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a heavy-duty truck or trailer mechanic.
  • Semi-trailer and/or heave duty truck body experience preferred, vans & reefers a plus.
  • Must have a strong knowledge regarding the safe handling and operation of trailers, tractors, containers, field offices, forklifts, power jacks, lift gates, power tools, trailer parts and supplies.
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must adhere to all company policies including safety practices and policies.
  • Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test and physical.
