Job Description:

We are seeking experienced Traffic Incident Management Support Specialists to join our team in Georgia and help improve roadway safety, incident response, and traffic operations across the region.

In this role, you will support field-based traffic incident management activities, coordinate with emergency responders and transportation partners, and help restore traffic flow safely and efficiently during incidents, special events, and work zones. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in emergency response, traffic operations, or public safety who wants to make a direct impact in the field.

This role would require you be local to the Georgia area – statewide. Will require state day and/or overnight travel and in-office team collaboration meetings

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with all field responder agencies, DOT officials, and other industry stakeholders
  • Lead and support traffic incident management operations during roadway incidents, planned events, and work zones
  • Coordinate with Traffic Management Center staff, law enforcement, fire/EMS, towing and recovery, and other partners
  • Support response, lane closure, detour, and clearance strategies to improve safety and mobility
  • Manage field-based TIM projects, including planning, execution, reporting, and closeout
  • Deliver training, tabletop exercises, and field drills for incident responders
  • Track and analyze operational data, including response and clearance times
  • Review, analyze, and develop SOP/SOG updates for incident response
  • Promote work zone safety, responder safety, and compliance with agency standards
  • Assist and provide support services for the Statewide Traffic Incident Management Enhancement initiatives, to include daily operations, planning of events, and industry speakers

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration (or equivalent)
  • Typically, 5+ years of related work experience in an administrative capacity, including at least 1+ years of experience in proposal coordination and production, is required.
  • Experience in emergency response, public safety, safety service patrol, or wrecker fleet operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and delivering training
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, Excel, and presentation tools such as PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Towing or first responder experience
  • FHWA TIM Responder Training; Train-the-Trainer is a plus
  • Experience with Traffic Management Centers or Regional Operations Centers
  • Familiarity with ITS, ATMS/ATIS, CAD integration, AVL, and incident management tools
  • Project management training or certification program

Salary Range: $30.58 - $53.51
