Integrity Trade Services is hiring a Traffic Control Superintendent for our traffic control client to start immediately at $52k/annually DOE plus OT as needed! Receive comprehensive benefits through our client upon hire!

Responsibilities:

The Traffic Control Superintendent leads and oversees the day-to-day activities of traffic control crews, including crews assigned to evening and weekend work. This is a hands-on leadership position: in addition to supervising personnel and coordinating operations, the Superintendent actively performs field-based traffic control duties as project needs require.

This individual is responsible for maintaining compliance with company safety policies, project schedules, staffing and equipment requirements, and quality expectations. The role plays an essential part in supporting crew productivity, enforcing MUTCD and applicable state DOT requirements, and driving efficient field operations.

Field Operations and Crew Leadership

  • Lead daily traffic control crew operations and ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Provide direction to field teams related to safety practices, training, productivity, scheduling, and required documentation.
  • Participate directly in traffic control work in the field when needed.
  • Inspect active job sites to verify compliance with MUTCD requirements and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct project kickoff meetings for new assignments and assist with transitions between phases on active projects.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

  • Administer and enforce the company Safety Program, including facilitating weekly toolbox safety talks.
  • Complete job-site spot checks, safety reviews, and quality-control inspections.
  • Ensure safety records, logs, procedures, and required documentation are accurate, complete, and properly maintained, including state DOT diary logs.
  • Monitor field inventory, confirm equipment quantities, and maintain an organized, clean, and properly stocked yard.

Personnel Management and Development

  • Develop crew schedules, monitor employee performance, and complete routine performance evaluations.
  • Provide training, coaching, and ongoing development for Traffic Control Technicians and Supervisors.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring field staff as operational needs arise.

Customer and Internal Coordination

  • Maintain consistent communication with dispatch, customers, project stakeholders, and field employees.
  • Address field concerns quickly, including equipment shortages, job-site issues, staffing needs, and project delays.
  • Serve as a company representative at relevant industry associations, customer meetings, and coalition events when requested.

Operational Oversight: Contract and Pavement Marking Projects

  • Manage contract production schedules and daily rental activity in accordance with bid assumptions and project estimates.
  • Coordinate material purchasing and schedule shop personnel to support field production needs.
  • Ensure adherence to DOT driver regulations while maximizing productive crew utilization and labor hours.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly revenue projections, production reports, and billing information in partnership with the accounting team.
  • Ensure work processes align with established procedures for dispatch, loading, estimating, invoicing, and billing.

Qualifications:

Required Certifications

  • Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) Certification is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to successfully complete company-sponsored Flagger Certification.
  • Defensive Driving Certification, provided by the company.

Experience

  • At least three years of traffic safety experience, including hands-on field work and formal industry training.
  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience within traffic control operations.
  • A minimum of 2,000 hours, or one year, of documented traffic control field experience.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of MUTCD guidelines and applicable state DOT requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, traffic control plans, and project quotations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email platforms, and ERP software such as Navision.]
  • Basic ability to understand financial reports, including balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements.

Additional Requirements

  • Must successfully complete a background investigation, motor vehicle record review, and drug screening.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and other nontraditional shifts as business needs require.
