Description

The operator is responsible for track replacement and maintenance on all models of track heavy equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to perform complete undercarriage wear inspections and upload to Manufacturers Undercarriage system for wear percentages.
  • Perform track pad swap removal and re-installation for all makes of undercarriage manufacturers.
  • Perform track pad installation on new components for all makes of undercarriage manufacturers.
  • Perform undercarriage maintenance, disassembly of complete track assembly, turn pins and bushings, and reassemble according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • After disassembly of track clean and inspect individual components, make list of components for repair / replacement, submit for pricing, and Customer repair approval.
  • Perform individual link repair / replacement as directed by Customer, Service Manager or Shop Foreman.
  • Assist Field / Shop technicians as instructed when replacing or repairing undercarriage.
  • Keep parts separated and organized for assigned repair request with assistance of Shop Foreman and Service Parts Coordinator. Advise manager promptly of missing or wrong parts associated with repair / replacement. Properly label unused parts for return.
  • Maintain acceptable level of organization and cleanliness as directed for track shop.
  • Maintain track press tooling to ensure proper working order, inspect mobile track press tooling when returned for proper operation or missing / damaged parts.
  • Other projects as assigned by Service Manager / Shop Foreman

Qualifications


  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent, a 2 year technical degree or comparable military training is preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field
  • Excellent written and oral communication and basic mathematical skills.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions, electrical and hydraulic systems and how they are integrated
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist and carry and lift up to 70lbs
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE to facilitate operating in a dusty, noisy environment.
  • Capable of problem solving
  • Willing to participate in online or in person training that may require some travel.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision / self-starter
  • Maintain excellent customer service
  • Must be able to pass a background, physical, and drug screen
