Job Overview:

As the Tooling Manager, you will lead and supervise the team responsible for manufacturing forging tools. You will ensure that tooling inventory is maintained at optimal levels and coordinate the procurement of necessary components. This position is key to supporting the efficiency of our forming and machining operations and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Hours: General Business Hours; Monday - Friday

Pay:$110,000 - $120,000 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise the team responsible manufacturing forging tools.

  • Manage the tooling inventory to ensure availability and minimize downtime.

  • Coordinate the procurement of required tooling components, working closely with suppliers and/or internal teams to maintain an uninterrupted supply chain.

  • Monitor tooling performance, identify areas for improvement, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement solutions.

  • Support and drive Continuous Improvement (CI) activities across the manufacturing operations, including identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, cost reductions, and quality improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards in all tooling-related activities.

  • Train and mentor team members, providing guidance and development opportunities to enhance their skills.

  • Analyze data to track performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • ERP -Maintain and support JDE modules for daily business operations and reporting.

  • CAD Software Skills - Use SOLIDWORKS and AutoCAD for technical drawings and design documentation.

  • CAM Operations - Support computer-aided manufacturing processes and production planning.

  • CNC Programming Understanding - Apply CNC programming knowledge to support manufacturing operations.

  • Strong knowledge of forging tools, inventory management, and procurement processes.

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
